International Women's Day is just around the corner, and this year we have a big celebration ahead. We started early with our project WE RULE THE WORLD, in which each boy and girl chose a significant woman for them.
In This is Art they had to draw a portrait using different techniques. Then in Diary they had to write a short text explaining their reasons. In English and Science we worked on different women who have changed the world we live in, such as: Marie Curie, Grace Hopper, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keefe, Florence Nightingale, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rachel Carson, Greta Thunberg and countless more. They have inspired us both, teachers and children, to broaden our horizons and challenge stereotypes.
This week, we have chosen twenty of them to inspire us further with their quotes and celebrate their achievements. We are sharing them via Instagram so you can be enlightened by them as well.
Some girls shared their experiences and all the things they have learned during this project. Hope you enjoy watching these videos as much as we did.
In addition, we are very pleased to have some of our mothers participating in this project too. In the next few days, some of them are coming to school to share their experiences as women in different areas, for example sports, business and Science.
It's been a truly meaningful journey and we have accomplished our main objectives: giving visibility to women and empowering our girls to become the best future women they can be.
